Description
During the post-War era, two types of films dominated UK film productions: light-heated comedies & patriotic war films such as "Sea of Sand". This particular film looked at the exploits of the Long Range Desert Squadron who ranged far & wide behind enemy lines during the N. African campaign (David Stirling, founder of the SAS worked alongside the LRDS). The poster presents a dramatic image of a wounded soldier taking on the might of Germany, an heroic illustration that would have proved effective in enticing the crowds. The poster has been cleaned, de-acidified & linen-backed.
